We know that it is easy to despair and feel it is hopeless to fight this hunt (and indeed all the atrocities perpetrated against animals). But we can't give in to those feelings. We need to be strong and committed to the bears. For those of us who live in bear county, how can we look at a bear again knowing that we did not do everything in our power to stop their slaughter this fall. For those not fortunate enough to live with the bears, how can we live with ourselves knowing we didn't push hard at this eleventh hour. Remember, our motto is "No one can do everything, but everyone can do something." So please, do something for the bears and you can hold your head high in the face of adversity, knowing you were there, literally fighting for their lives.
NJARA does not ask you to do something unless there is a major plan behind your efforts! We have been working tirelessly on this campaign. Here's what's going on:
We are continuing to supply towns in bear country (free of charge) with our flier titled "Guidelines for Discouraging Black Bear Traffic"
Over the last few months, we've seen editorials in major NJ Newspapers against this hunt. Any time you see an article, clip it and send it in to our office. Do not assume we have it!
