Talk" with Suzanne Dragan. Claudia Rose Emerson for New
Jersey Animal Rights Alliance, (No Animals in Circuses
Campaign Coordinator) will discuss an ongoing campaign and
Tom Rider (former Ringling employee and whistle-blower) will
discuss the Federal lawsuit against Ringling Bros. and
Barnum & Bailey Circus under the Endangered Species Act.
Suit alleges that Ringling Bros. mistreats, and abuses the
Asian elephants it uses in shows all across the country. The
Animal Welfare Institute, and it's co-plaintiffs include the
American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals,
the Fund for Animals, the Animal Protection Institute and
former Ringling employee, Tom Rider. Trial is to commence
sometime this year.
