NJARA Relies On Your Financial Support NJARA receives no government funding, yet through our own fundraising efforts, grants from foundations and our members' generosity, we have been able to keep afloat and accomplish quite a bit in our 24-year existence.
NJARA performs a vital service to the animals in New Jersey by having a full-time office staffed by dedicated activists—quite an accomplishment for a small organization. In addition to our campaigns and projects, we handle calls from the public on a wide variety of issues. On any given day we can be found helping someone fight a proposed ordinance in their town limiting the number of animal companions, giving tips on how to veganize recipes, pointing individuals in the right direction to help them handle legal issues, advising residents on how to oppose a deer hunt in their town, offering our vast knowledge, expertise and resources and generally just talking to those who have “tried everyone else, and no one would help.” We are in the business of saving animals lives and we take it very seriously.
Like you, we look forward to the time when all animals will be treated with the respect and consideration they deserve and we are able to "put ourselves out of business," but we know that day is a ways down the road. Your generosity helps insure that we will be able to remain a voice for the animals here in NJ for as long as they need us.
